Kat in Little Rock

I ran my run at the Big Dam Bridge in Little Rock, AR. (Yes. It is actually called the Big Dam Bridge.) When I started (at 9:30 am), the temperature said 89, feels like 102 with 65% humidity. In other words, freaking HOT. The husband and the child (in stroller) were nice enough to accompany me to take photos. They did not run. Karl and I don't run together. We tried it once. It wasn't pretty. He did participate in the Run Like Robot but ran his own race.

I ran over the bridge, back and through the wooded trail alongside the Arkansas river (Cue the music: Over the River and Through the Woods.) It was hot (Did I mention that?). I allowed myself to walk on and off after mile 2 because I thought I might vom. I tried to run in the shade and walk in the sun for that last mile. I doused myself in water (who needs to drink it when it feels so much better all over your face?) and wrapped up my race while Karl and Nate waited in the air conditioned car. HA. HOT. We had a celebatory drink and headed out to the Purple Cow for burgers and fries. AHH nothing like post-race eats to negate ANY calories burned!
